Damage & Symptoms

Larva feeding leads to appearance of tunnels on the trunk or base and frass can be observed at the entrance of tunnels that have a distinct fermented odor. Once the crown becomes wilt and the lower leaves fall, the infestation spreads through the tree and it will often lead to the death of the tree
