Damage & Symptoms
Damage resulting from this pest is dangerous considering the difficulty of detecting symptoms. This is due to the penetration of larvae into the fruit clusters and branches. Damage is observed when twigs are broken and tunnelling appear inside the twigs. This causes severe economic damage through fruit dropping, reduction in quality and quantity of crops
Method of Control
Attract & Kill & Mass Trapping & Monitoring
Application
A) Attract & Kill: The substance is applied in form of droplets (5 gm) from a tube to the highest branches. For trees 13 feet in hight or less, about 120 gm are recommended per hectare.
B) Mass Trapping: 5-10 traps per hectare
C) Monitoring: 1-2 traps per hectare
