Damage & Symptoms

 

Damage results from the oviposition activity of female as well as larvae feeding on fruit. Each female can lay up to 400 eggs on a single fruit. This causes great devastation. The cavities made by the activities of the larvae cause the fruit to dry-out or to become further susceptible to bacteral and fungal pathogens.
