In this technique, pheromones are applied by dispersing a“scent” into the air to attract a target pest towards designated lures. This technique is somewhat similar to mass trapping, except once the insect is attracted to the droplet, it is subjected to a killing agent such as an insecticide which will then kill it. Traps baited with the killing agent will only target the pest specie.
